PS BS

Not sure if this has happened to anyone else here, i doubt it has but anyway...

So, i'm trying to deposit on PS for the first time in about 3 years. They tell me that my account is suspended due to my association with another player. That player is my brother.

So about 3 years ago, my brother opened his account to deposit and saw there was already $30 on there, so he went to his transaction history.

There had been in excess of $2500 deposited over 3 days. He contacted PS and told them the situation, long story short they asked for him to repay the funds and suspended his account until he'd done so.

But they suspended my account also because i had deposited on his account before with my card.

So i've sent them an email to explain what had happened and i'll get back to you's when they email me.

Has anything like this happened to anyone you know before? Accounts being hacked?

I don't understand what happened with your brothers account - he went to play on it and someone had deposited $2.5k over 3 days and lost it all? Why did they want him to repay the funds? Did they not see that a different IP address had been used? How was this money funded?

It's pretty common for Stars to do this sorta thing if you're that closely associated with another account (regular money transfers/same card etc)

I'm assuming the lost it all to another account HU or soemthing, str8 transfer would be too suss, but yeah they shouldve been able to see a different IP address, and i think it was from a stolen credit card. I just don't see why they would think he'd dont it if he'd brought it to their attention. They had no knowledge of it until he told them.

So now i can't play until i send them all my details. They want a copy of the card and statements i used to deposit on his account ages ago, but i don't have the card anymore nor the statements.

You'll need to supply at least some information - give them everything you can and explain why you can't give them the stuff you haven't got anymore. It's also worth talking to your bank and seeing if they can help at all with statements. Stars have got all the power in these scenarios so you just have to go along with it and make them happy.
