1.Focus on getting some good herb...now you will have fun no matter what.

When i was in school my home game consisted of 3 guys who played poker for a living and 5 guys who only played for fun. When you sit get position on the good player, but dont tell everyone that because youll sound like a d-bag. But otherwise play tight/aggr, fold often early on and then steal pots later in the night.

But just have fun, home games are a time to kick it and chill, not to try to make money.
Me? I always tell the truth.

    Even when I lie.

focus on getting plenty of beers down you and having a good time. Other than that try and play plenty of pots in position against the guys worse then you and avoid the strong player(s) unless you have a good hand. Most of the money in poker comes from beating people WAY worse than you.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

The above posts are right. Focus on having fun. Seriously, there is so much variance in poker that you could lose the first 4 sessions w/ your friends and still be the best player at the table.
