Default Poker Tracker Donk needs help

After 18 months of poker I finally bought PT. I'm uploading 12.6k HH and although the software told me it might freeze from so many, it has been frozen for 3+ hours now. Is this expected/Is there any better way to upload all of my hands?

I'm looking around FTR for a good guide to PT I stumbled upon a while ago but can't find it for the life of me. Also, what is this HUD thing I hear of constantly and where can I get it?

Someone else here will probably be more help than I will be, so I'll make this short!

Here's the PT forum, might give you some answers:
    http://www.pokertracker.com/forum/in...e88a4c3cd1855c

    Here's the PAHud site:
    http://pokeracesoftware.com/
Basically it displays stats on the table for each opponent. So for example, you might choose to see their PFR% while you play with them. If they've raised 25 out of 100 hands, it will display as 25%. These stats are taken from the PT data you collect as you import hands while you play and are updated as new hands are added.

You can DL the software for the HUD for free and use it at one table at a time to try it out. You have to pay $25 to register it, which gives you the ability to play multiple tables using the HUD.

i have never tried to upload so many hands at one time. so, i have no idea if thats a normal amount of time.

when i first bought PT, i didnt try to upload any old hands. i just started from scratch. that alleviated the problem you are having.

i just started a PT-type thread in this forum. run over and check it out. if you want a link to a hugely detailed explanation, its in that thread.

courtie, please look over there, too. i want to know if its cool to post the link to the article, and bring FTR'rs back for discussion?

here's another "tip" for you, dean...

when you get it up and running, adjust the default auto-ratings for the players. no doubt the default numbers will do ok. but, when most players put people on ranges, they tend to do so from THEIR frame of reference....or according to how they themselves would play the hand. so, set up PT's auto ratings according to YOUR numbers.

look at your basic stats. vpip, pfr, AF. and use yourself as the "baseline." if you are 20/8/2, then adjust the auto ratings for

tight being <20%, loose being >20%
passive pf <8, and aggressive pf >8

and so on and so forth.

that oughta tell you how the players are playing against YOUR style. it should make it easier for you to make your reads off the numbers. but, keep in mind, these are only "general" reads. they dont tell the whole story. a true read has the numbers as a basis and specific notes to back it up.

    good luck.

Sometimes I don't upload for a couple of days (say 4 hours of 3 tabling) and that might take 10 minutes to sort out, so I can't imagine how long a year would take.

ok, I'm going to ask the obvious. 12.6k histories I thought meant 12,600 hand histories = 12,600 hands. But sounds like it doesn't...

as for making it run faster, I'm not sure how best to do this. Obviously close down every other app. AND any internet connection to be able to devote as much resource as possibe to PT. And play the waiting game I guess. Good luck!

I think that pokertracker uses to much memory of my computer, its so annoying playing 12 tables.

Yeah, why is PAHud such a bad thing to have? Sure it may not be essential for the micro stakes but it still gives you information.

I think HUD will be useful for me 12 tabling 100NL FR. I'll buy it soon. Oh yeah and I'm halfway done uploading my hands. My 3 winningest hands are AA,KK, and... AQos?!?!?!

get to 100nl watching the play. Then buy a HUD and concentrate on exploiting your opponents tendancies.

Then turn it off while you're playing, then load the hands at the end of the session. If you're using HUD then go to preferences and use the database option. Means you won't get realtime updates during your session, but will save loads on memory
