    Thumbs up Poker Report Card

If you guys had to grade yourselves on 10 criteria based on your table play, what would those criteria be?

    I'm talking about things like:

    A) Self Control
    B) Emotional Stability
    C) Situational Awareness

    etc....

So what would be ten things you grade yourselves based on your table play?

Why would I have to grade myself? Is someone going to shoot me if I don't?

I'm an A+ when it comes to calling river bets when I know I'm losing just to see what he has so I can take a note and pretend it's gonna win me money back in the future.

    - putting opponents on a range
    - focusing, not playing automatically
    - tilt control

Can't really think of anything significant that isn't already included in these three. Why would you need ten anyway? Master these and you're already a very good player. After that you'll know by yourself what to do next.

You missed equity calculations. It's all very well knowing what villain's range is, but what to do with such information?

Also developing reads. I think the assumption was that this fell under putting opponents on ranges, but most reads have more to do with how do they play their range rather than what their range is.

Also, exploiting based on those reads and making other adjustments (to table dynamics, etc.).

Also, forming ranges for yourself and adjusting them in ways that make it difficult for you to be exploited and that maximize profit for the top of your range.

Also, bankroll management. Like all things in poker, this is more complicated than the 20BI's rule and all that stuff.

If you add to the above tilt control (which involves about a trillion sub-categories) and putting your opponent on a range, then I think you have my 6 categories. There is also tells (especially live) and table/seat selection, but those are so relatively minor.

Master this and you're way ahead of micro regs.
