Pocket pair against a 3 bet

Here preflop, I called with the intention of hitting a set with good implied odd, if not let the hand go. Probably a lose call from me I admit.

Flop: ($1.47) K, J, 6 (2 players)
SB bets $0.90, Hero calls $0.90

This is a good flop for me, bottom set, although higher sets are possible I called in case of a regular c-bet

Turn: ($3.27) 10 (2 players)
SB bets $1.25, Hero raises to $3.05, SB calls $1.80

I called the turn with the intention to shove on the river. I guess a raise here would have been much better.

River: ($9.37) K (2 players)
SB bets $2.20, Hero raises to $7.25, SB calls $3.26 (All-In)

Total pot: $20.29 | Rake: $0.99

My question here is, even hitting my set, was I against a range of hand to strong to continue with the set, specially on the turn ?

I'm raising flop to get value from Kx, draws, whatever else he'll call with. Why slowplay vs a fish who probably won't fold?

Good point, this type of player will probably not fold. Anyway, if I had just a bit of fold equity I screwed it pretty bad. yep missed a value raise here.

preflop is meh, i probably fold but i dont see calling as too bad as long as you are folding when you dont hit your set. outside of that this is soooo standard....even against a 3b range of jj+ak which i bet he is looser, giving him a river range of ak,jj,kk (note not even giving him aa) you still have 66% equity...why the fuck would you think you are behind here...RAISE FLOP...everything else is fine. Im assuming he had JJ

please raise this flop. he has AA equally as often as he has JJ and KK (if he 3bets them all 100%) plus we get a shitload of value from AK every time he has it. this board hits villain's range hard and we have great equity vs that range. raise raise raise raise raise raise raise raise raise

You need to raise this flop because there are a lot of turns you don't want to see with a lot of money still left behind because his range still includes a fair amount of draws.

Also, keep up this kind of analysis of every decision you make. That's the sort of thing that will help you get better faster.

Just for practice, what would be the highest raise to make after the flop that would only just give the villain pot odds to call? Putting him on a range of any broadway cards still gives Hero about 80% equity.
Villain has 20% equity which means odds of 4:1 to win.
Pot after the flop: 1.47
Villain raises 0.90 = $2.37
Hero will call 0.90 and then bet on top, so pot will be $3.27 + Bet
Therefore,
$3.27 + Bet = 4 x (bet)
$3.27 = 3 x (Bet)
Bet = $3.27/3 = $1.09.
Hero should raise flop by $1.09 at least to try and get Villain to make a mistake.

Sounds good to me Tasha. I guess that after a couple of really bad beats I lowered down my level of aggressivity and I'm in more defensive mode. With this type of player and a flop like that, even on a wet board I guess you commit and go all the way no matter what. You put the money in and pray, on the long run we get the very best of it. So over all the hand was played somewhat ok, aside the stupid call on the flop.

i fold pre because this is the 4th time he's 3b (if we felt that a 3b from him was usually gonna be nut hands, then we'd have better implied odds).

calling can't be bad though, 'cause we're getting 20:1 against a really bad player and his range is still probably fairly strong
