Default plz any tips would be greatly appreciated

i am a fairly new player to no limit texas holdem, i watch it on tv everysingle chance i get, and watch the same episodes over and over again. i play in live games, at 10 buy in, and u can rebuy.....
at first i seemed to be on a roll. winnng 10 or 15 on a consistent basis. bluffing at a few pots, but mostly relying on my cards to help me. as of late, i havent won as much, and just are not seeing good cards, and when i do play my good cards i get, always seem to end up on the short side. i mean i am a tight player and only play good, hands, usually when i play i come in for a raise, not much limping. but i am in need of some tips or advice on what to do, i have not seen the cards lately, and my stack just gets dwindled away at, by the blinds, and lack of quality cards, i am not much of a bluffer, and dont like to, but now i am trying to do so more out of desparation, and not doing to well at that. so i need tips, or advice, anything to help me try and break out of this.

thank u very much, my aim is automockersux, if u would like to talk poker feel free to im me, i would love to talk my name is phil

    thank u in advance.

Phildo, it would appear you've hit a plateau. Albeit, its down there, but every player goes through periods of introspection where there game stagnates for a while before jumping (i mean it, it'll go up fast).

The best thing to do, is keep an open mind, read as much FTR as you can, and studying some books is always good (Sklansky is good for theory of poker and Holdem for advanced Players) I myself (at times only myself) am a big fan of Brunson's super system, It's not a bible, but it did help my game tremendously, and if your playing live games a lot, get Caro's Book of Tells, its definately worth it.

You can also pester the Gurus on here, im not gonna inflate their ego's by giving names but you'll see them posting a lot.

If you're playing right you're just on a streak of bad luck, it happens to a lot of players and can even last for grueling months. There are always going to be players who call hoping to catch one card straights or runner runner flushes no matter how much you bet, but keep in mind that in the long run these players are going to lose money to you.

    A few comments:
    (1) Although TV holdem is exiting to watch, its probably not good to develop strategies from. They tend to only show you the exciting hands and you might get baised towards loose/aggressive playing.
    (2) Success at poker is all about the strategy you have. To determine if you have a winning strategy: a) Clearly understand you strategy, 2) Play lots of games (I would suggest online). After 1000's of hands (online) using your strategy, you should know if its working. If its not, identify an area to change and play more games.
    (3) I wouldnt bluff at your level. Even more, I wouldnt bluff out of desparation. You will always lose out (in the long run)

I would definetly agree, What the TV shows you is players going all in, or beeting with 7-2 they never show you how the players built up their stack by winning small pots and not getting trapped.

But aside from that it might just be a bad luck streak that gives you less confidence, I find that if im playing good or at least winnning at the time I tend to think my cards are usually good, for example if im playing good i will usually call a big bet with top pair and a bad kicker. For some reason I seem to win a lot more this way even though it might not be a good strategy. Anyway what I'm getting at is that when I'm losing I find its usually because I fold to many hands that I would have won and get bluffed out of pots easily.
