    Default PLEASE HELP WITH POSITION~~

Ok, after hearing some great advice from my last post, I think it will help me even more if I can determine what position im in when playing short handed games. For example, at a 9 player table, seats 1-3 are considered ep, seats 4-6 are considered mp, and seats 7-9 are considered lp. The reason im asking this is because it will help me know what hands I should be raising from certain positions. So for example in a 4 or 5 seat game. How would you label these positions...

In a 5 handed game pretend that the first five players folded and play your hands accordingly.

i dont really count the seats .. i just do some division i guess.. divide 3 by the amount of people playing and set people in EP, MP and LP

but you wont find me in a hand in MP or EP if isnt strong.

this is a stratergy im trying to apply, im sick and tired of having TPGK with QJ, KJ, KQ, AJ in the SB or EP and having to play OOP. I have now started folding them. Do you agree on chucking these hands in the SB and EP?

...As i play 6max I may limp some from MP or raise if I fele I can buy the button.
    Experimenting - 200NL 5max.

And conversely, when 5 fold, would you play it like it was short-handed?

This leads to another question, when it's up to the blinds in online play, do you play like you would heads-up?

In an aggressive game I think I'll start using Element's plan... but in a passive/weak game I think I'll stick to the first way.

    Answer to first question, yes.

Answer to second question, yes and no. If the big blinds gets the button in the heads-up games you are familiar with, then yes. If the small blind gets the button, then no its a completely different game.

ill complete weak hands like QJo in the SB definitely. ill also complete 2 gappers/3 gappers if theyre suited. anything that has any potential.

but i wouldnt touch them outside of the SB/BB unless im trying to steal in late.

i dont hardly ever play 6 max so i wouldnt want to give any bad advice. i play alot of full 10 ring games and sometimes at the end of the night it gets shorthanded, but i dont think my strats change all that much, except playing more hands.

In ring games, you should not be calling with such marginal high cards in bad position. SB is another matter, I cannot help but complete with these cards, even though my position sucks for the rest of the hand. However, I dont think it would be entirely wrong to fold them and avoid the whole TP oop probelm all together, I just am not diciplined enough to do this.

On the other hand, I dont have alot of expirence with 6max. If you play like the other dude said, and pretend the first 4 hands folded for each round, I'm still not putting any money in on these cards unless I have position, or think I can buy it with a raise.

Hmm I'm used to the small blind getting the button. But why is that how it's commonly played? It doesn't make sense when you compare it to other games... although that is going a little off topic.
