In the early stages of a tourney, if the pot isn't big (less than or equal to 100 chips) I would overbet the pot, many will still call, for example:
I agree, except I would do 50% of the pot to achieve the pot odds. I definitely think betting is the right play or else you're giving them a chance to draw it.
While you do kill the pot odds so to speak, the implied odds are still present, If you have someone pegged for a flush draw, bet as much as the pot or overbet it if you think they will call, the idea is to get them to make as bad a play as possible, if you bet the pot, they are getting 2:1 to call, but only approx 4:1 to hit their flush, thats better than giving them 3:1. Check-fold if it completes, or try to show it down as cheaply as possible.
