Turned out the guy on the first hand had KQc, and an A hit the turn, but still a good fold at the time I guess...

In hand 2 my thinking to check KK on the flop was that his RR preflop had me convinced he was playing JJ/QQ and hit it on one of the two...perhaps just a misread.
