Playing AK overcards
Have about 12K hands in, mostly .50/1 or 1/2 limit, so still pretty green...
Struggling with AK (s or o) post-flop when nothing pairs on the flop. How aggressively should I bet these out for value, as I frequently find myself getting to the river with no pair and STILL only having AK overs. Currently I usually raise/re-raise PF (depending on position), bet/call into the flop, bet/call on the turn and then, if the pot is big enough and the board doesn't show obvious straight/flush/set/FH possibilities, bet into the river if HU or check/fold if multi-way pot.
I feel like I lose way more of these than I win. Should I be more passive if I don't pair by the turn or keep betting (assuming pot odds are there) until the bitter end?
Sorry if not the clearest post in the world (is my first!) but hope you all get the idea.... Thx!!!
