Playing against a PFR in NLHE

In Miller, Malmuth, and Sklansky’s book, SSHE, there are two charts for starting hands. One chart for loose games, and one for tight games. According to Tyson’s articles accessed from the home page, these don’t apply too well to a NL game. In the SSHE chart he also tells what hands to play and how to play them against a raise and a reraise. Can these be used as a rough guide to the hands to play against a raise in a NL game because of how tight one must play against a raise, and especially a reraise?

No. Don't try to use limit starting hand chart for NL. Limit, is just that, so your whole stack will not be at risk.

In NL the "gap" concept become much more important than limit. In other words, you need a better hand to call or re-raise with than a hand that you raise with when you are first in the pot.

preflop limit is COMPLETELY different from NL.

in limit cold calling is a terrible mistake. in NL it's fine to call it (if the price isn't too high) because you just need to hit the flop harder than they do to take their entire stack. the implied odds are massive.
