Default Playing 2 stakes at the same time

I 4 table -- I am getting ready to move from 50nl to 100nl, but I was thinking about playing 2 or 3 tables of 50nl and 1 or 2 of 100nl. Any thoughts on this? Do you get the tables mixed up (especially preflop)?

    Thanks

Yikes, I wouldn't do this. I would be too confused.

Ya one time I thought I was on a pot limit table, slid the slide and pushed a "pot" bet out there on a draw. I bet $100 into a $2 pot. Aaaaaaaah! Don't mix pot limit and NL.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I play a tournament alongside cash games all the time. It's only gotten me in trouble once. I had a good stealing hand in late position in a cash game, but I thought it was my tournament in which the blinds were 50/100. So I thought it was my tournament table, so I typed 300 into the bet box and pressed enter which resulted in me going all-in. Luckily no one had anything.

Yeah but you're already used to both.. if you move up and keep playing your normal stake I think it'll only cause confusion.

I don't think it should be an issue. Winning play at one level isn't going to be far off winning play at the level above. Playing two stakes like this will, theoretically, reduce the scare factor of the higher stake and as you get into the zone, you'll almost certainly find that there's very little difference in good play at either level.

When I move up in limits. I usually open up 1 table of the higher limit and keep it in the upper left corner. After I make X amount of dollars at that table I open up 2 tables and have them on the top of the screen. Then I jump to 4 tables at the new limit. I believe this lets you adjust easier to the next new limit. You will make some mistakes like typing a $2.00 bet at 100nl or a $4.00 bet at 50nl every once in a while. If you keep the higher tables positioned the same place on your screen you will minimize your mistakes.

I play my usual 4 tables the same way all the time.in all 4 corners, then if a tourney or S&G is running its right in the middle so when it pops up i know its a different game and take an extra second to look instead because it's not my standard type of play going on. It should work on a different limit or game, just make sure there is something different about the game so it reminds you, like turning off avatars or change the colour of the deck or chat window. every sight hgas different ways to change the visuals.

i think this is a good idea if you want to ease your way into it. i don't think it's very hard to keep from getting the tables confused.

It all depends on how busy you are (how many tables) when you play. If you play 2-3 tables or less I think you can keep them separate no problem. I do so all the time since there is often only 1 $100 table available so I load up two $50 tables.
    Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

It's not hard. If you get confused that easily you probably shouldn't be multi-tabling in the first place. I also like to open up one of the higher stake at first when my bankroll is almost ready for me to move up to the next level.

    Give 'er!
