    Question Play-to-Study Ratio?

Just out of curiosity, how much many study hours do yous guys put it vs. playing hours?

    Happy New Year!

I'm about 4:1 play to study. Study includes session reviews and books, but not time spent trolling the commune.

I tend to study in spurts, so there are times when the proportion of time I put into studying is a lot higher then it is during other periods. Some months, I don't formally study at all. The closest I come is thinking about my game while reading and posting in forums. At the other end of the spectrum, I've had some months where I've put in more study hours than play hours.

I'm actually going to be studying A LOT more these coming months to prepare for the Heartland tournament coming to St. Louis in April. I've devised a plan to accomplish my goal of improving my abilities in MTTs, since I'm successful at SnGs and the Heartland is an MTT.

I don't know about a ratio, but I've set up specific things to do to study, such as read books, read articles, play more MTTs, post hands from those MTTs on the forums, and prepare notes of the things I've learned for my business coach (who encouraged me to set this goal and to come up with a plan in the first place).

That's good to hear elwood, keep it up

My studying time has decreased recently - it's definitely easier to study a lot when you're playing regularly. When I have the odd free Sunday I'd obviously rather play than spend all day studying and then not be able to play and put it into practice.
