Okay let's say I'm holding xx pocket pair and board comes up something like AA4 or 884 or 773 rainbow-
Knowing there are other factors, generally, am I in good shape??

this depends on too much - how many are in the hand? are they loose? do your OPPs raise a lot and are you OOP (because your hand becomes crap if someone raises you in position)? was it raised pre flop + how often does he raise pre flop? what are stack sizes? you get the idea... | |

Playing a paired board can be tricky especially if there are alot of players in the pot and the table is generally loose. It is very hard to tell whether someone has trips on a board of 773 because they will generally slowplay them. Also, QQX and AAX etc. are very dangerous because many players at lower limits play any ace any king and any queen. Also, w/ a small pocket pair you will have a tendancy to believe that the other fellows can't possibly have flopped trips and over-commit to your hand.
