    Default Outs Question

Is it possible to have 21 outs. I calculated and thats what i came up with in my head.

Yea. If you put your opponent on top pair, but you have two overcards that also make 4-to-a-flush and an open ended straight draw, you have 21 outs. 6 to pair one of the overcards, 9 to make the flush, 8 to make the straight, minus 2 that make the flush and the straight.

Just for arguement's sake it is possible to have more then 21 outs

    Assume you have

    board is

    Your opponnent has

So far he his ahead, but you have
    9 to a flush
    3 aces to a str8
    3 9's to a str8
    3 kings
    3 jacks
3 tens for better two pair
3 queens for better two pair

    Total of 27 outs

    Not neccessirly

In Heads up there may be situations where gonig AI with 33 or with KJs is justified

ya but i cant remember the last time i bothered counting outs in heads up play.

at a full ring I cant imagine anyone with such a godo read to continue playoing pocket threes to the turn. So in order for this sitation to actually occur, it woudl require quiet an idiot to get so attached to his 33 that he will go so far with it. And then proceed to bet with it in a manner that you have to bother counting outs to see if ur hand is good enough.

you have nine to a flush, but only 2 A's to a straight (Can't count the A of clubs twice. Same with the nine of clubs.) There's not as many outs here as it appears. Regardless, with that many outs, you are seldom not going to have sufficient odds to draw.

"but only 2 A's to a straight (Can't count the A of clubs twice. Same with the nine of clubs.)"

I think you're forgetting the fourth suit? A of clubs is one out, the other three suits are three outs, no? *looking over it again, i think i know what you meant but you just explained it wrong. the outs are wrong, but there are not 9 flush outs, the 8 and 3 of clubs are not outs, so there are 7 flush outs, for 25 total. there are still 4 aces and 4 9's though.

    The outs are 4 aces, 3 kings, 3 queens, 3 jacks, 3 tens, 4 nines, 1 seven, 1 six, 1 five, 1 four, 1 two.
