    Default OPEN RAISING vs LIMPING....help~

Ok I was wondering if I had a hand like AJ suited in middle position or KQ in late position. Should I raise with these hands when players limp before me or should I just limp. I just bought T.J. Cloutier and Tom Mcevoy's "Championship No Limit Texas Hold Em" book for ring and tournament strategies and its kinda foggy what they suggest because they say to raise with AA,KK,on down to AK. But doesnt specify wether you should raise with medium strong ho hands when opening a pot or players limp before you...What do i do?

I dont what what everyone does, but i usually play against bad player who could limp in with any two cards, so i tend to limp in a just to see if i hit the flop. When i do I know these same bad players are gonna give me action. Minimum risk, still good rewards. Hope it helps.

My general thinking is that if opps are loose, I'm going to raise PF with anything playable. This means that they are in the flop with me, holding below average cards, at a premium.

If the game is solid I'd limp. But I think AJs is often worth a raise there too.

Consider mucking AJo/ KQo at solid tables if many people have limped in. There are many people who limp AQ/AK, as well as people who limp QQ+ from the front of the table. Against looser tables, you can take more flops with these with limpers already in. Hands like AJo/KQo don't play so well in multiway pots, so if a table is so loose that I still want to play my AJo in late position despite there being several limpers, I'm going to raise it and try to get things heads up if possible. I'm not a big fan of limping hands like KQo AJo (if I'm going to play them at all).
