Default ***The Official RushPoker Thread (Vids, Stats and Strats)***

most of the discussion thus far has seemed kinda unfocused and generally unproductive, so i thought i'd try to streamline some discussion and get talking on pretty specific exploitative strategies of this game that i'm 90% sure is beatable.

Here's a vid i made tonight after giving up on trying to make platinum. it's not great 'cause i screwed up a few things and didn't have a glass of water nearby, but it'll get the ball rolling (i'll prolly post more later):

CLIFFNOTES: bet and raise constantly, fold constantly (in other words, play nitty/monkey); if there is dead money, and you have the opportunity to be in position in the hand, that money is as good as yours; do whatever would be profitable in a vacuum, 'cause you're in a vacuum; it doesn't seem worth it to do anything OOP. RED LINE FTW

here are my positional stats, which i think highlight the differences in play when i play rush. i have a thread somewhere around here on what i generally run in other games if you feel the need to compare:

soooooo, this over like 2k hands, so obv i don't have all this crap figured out, and i'm not certain about anything i'm saying, so let the discussions and disagreements begin!

This isn't going to add a thing but I usually play Rush when I have under an hour to play poker and I want to cram hands in. Either that or I'm starting tables and want to get hands in immediately to warm up.

Other than that, I don't really play. This game'll probably hinder a lot of poker players' growth.
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

I played this two nights ago. 4 tabling 10nl FR Rush and just played super nit 15/12 lol. I ran kind of hot and made some really stupid plays but I managed to come out on top +1.5 BIs over 1700 hands. I started out with $4 stacks cuz I'm gay and ran it up to 300bbs+ on two tables. It really is all about playing really nitty in EP, opening up huge in LP, and attacking the dead money. So many people don't want to fight for the pot when they don't have a hand and they can see the next 20 hands in the time it would take them to win this one.

All in all, its a fad and it will die out eventually, but I'm willing to have some fun with it while its around.

There's actually some really interesting dynamics you can create, using the leverage you can create by building a big stack early in a rush session. I'm sure it's not as applicable at 10nl and 25nl. I can't do the explanation of it justice - Marshall28 had some great coverage of it.

All in all though, I'm not sure about it being just a fad. It gives action to the action junkies. As long as there's a healthy collection of said junkies populating the tables, rush will stick around.

Just look at the success super turbo and don sngs have had.
    I run a training site...
