yup, but question is, is it worth it? will he give you credit enough to fold enough time so that you can make a profit from the measly pot?

I prefer doing this when betting into 3 players, this way people tend to believe me more since there's "another player" and they usually won't call me without some piece of the flop.

Also depends on who you're bluffing, some ppl might never open any hand except AA, some might never fold with A high, others just give you credit all the time...

But yeah, I'd say making this play when you feel the other player will fold enough will be a profitable play inthe long run.
