Hand 1: Bet turn. You're both semi-bluffing and valuebetting, as if you're beat you have 10 outs, and if you're good you're putting more in the pot, so its a win-win situation. If he raises your turn bet, assume he has a flush and figure out what your pot odds are to see if you're calling his bet. If he just calls, you're most likely ahead unless another heart hits river.
Hand 2: Bet more on flop. Betting more causes the pot to increase, and you can therefore get more in on safe turns, essentially commiting him without him seeing all 5 cards first. you went $2 > $5.50 > $18, a healthier bet progression woulda been $3.50 > $8 > AI or so. NH though, you're prolly good here vs his KQ/QJ alot.
