    Default need major help

    hi guys im kinda new to online poker, ive been grindin out on 2nl for a few days now and im down to $47 from $60, i really need some help to stop the losses.

    I play a pretty strong TAG game but i might be c-betting too many flops because my opponents always end up re-raising everytime i C-bet.

    any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Read the Beginners Digest, and post hands where you lost or won more than 30 bbs.

    sounds like this free video series will be ideal for you.

    101 series full ring

    it will show you a very very basic style of play that should stop you losing money and start building a bankroll. Its not the answer to everything but will give you a foundation to start adding other concepts ontop of the basics. After a big downswing at 10nl last year , i found these videos and worked my way through them , and in hindsight it made me a better player. I'm now playing 25nl

    Once you start beating 2NL and heading towards 5nl , start looking at the free micro stakes videos on the left of this page in the popular tools box, google pokertrikz for some more free videos , and theres also some at www.tagpoker.co.uk.Once you are at 5nl or 10nl ...you can start thinking about a subscription to www.grinderschool.com.

    These videos will help to show you how other people play the stake your at and the reasons why they are doing what they do, but thats not much help when you are faced with your own situation, cards and opponents. when you have a difficult decision to make or not sure if you played a hand correctly , post your hand here and get advice from other people.

    make sure you have your poker clients set to save your hand histories to hard disk. Look at making use of the 2 month free trial of poker tracker and the 2 week trial of holdem manager to make reviewing your play easier .

    Put villain on a range, think about your perceived range (if he's not a monkey), your position in the hand and why you're c-betting a particular flop. If someone raises your c-bet and you don't have a very strong hand or decent draw, you should fold. There are obviously extenuating circumstances for calling and/or 3-betting but let's leave that out of the discussion for now.

    Applies to you too Tasha. Swallow pride, get good at poker, only way to do it is admit you suck. I did, and it wasn't easy. I checked out a few of the videos in the link Keith put up and I really wish I had those when I was starting out. Go for it.

    It also wouldn't hurt to hang out in IRC. See the IRC sticky in this forum.

    {Edit: Actually the sticky is in the community forum. --spoonitnow}

    Post stats, sample size and hands. Not to shit on your parade, but you didn't become a good player overnight.
