Today i broke the $1k bankroll barrier.

I first started playing poker at my friends house for fun, no money or anything. Then i was introduced to online poker where i played for play money. Not long after that i made my first deposit of $20 at pokerroom. After playing for about a week and getting my deposit up to about $50 including the $10 bonus i received, i quickly lost it. I soon became addicted to poker and deposited another $10 which was soon after lost.

After about two weeks of not playing i made a $25 deposit at pokerstars. This was about mid march of this year. This deposit was up and down until it finaly reached to about $3. I realised i was doing somethign wrong and started reading all kinds of poker strategy at several sites. I grinded it out at micro limits until i finaly reached about $45.

At this point i started playing 5.50 sngs. I was successful at these and finally became a winning player. After reaching around $130 i moved to the $10 sngs. I made it to around $270 where i seemed to plateau and would hover around this point for a few weeks. I started playing the low buyin MTT's and took 2nd in a 180 man 4.40 sng on stars. After this i started playing $22 sngs even though i wasnt rolled for them. I did well in these for awhile and make bankroll grew to around $550. I moved back to the 11s after finally realizing i wasnt risking to much and i probly wasnt good enough yet for the 22s. I played the 11s for a few weeks slowing building my bank roll and even taking a 9th place in a 5.50 MTT out of over 1700 people and winning $110.

After building my bankroll to around $800 i moved back to the 22s confindent in my ability. I am at $1071 and feel like im playing as good as ever. I feel like i have accomplished alot in the short time i have played but also have improved very quickly.

I think the best advice i received from anyone on this site was to read Harrington on Holdem. By far the best decision i have made and has paid for itself 10 fold. The next best advice would probly be to get poker tracker and pokerace, has helped immensly. As far as advice i would give to anyone, stay within your bankroll. I have lost the most money off playing in tournaments that im not rolled for.

Sorry for the long post, but just wanted to thank everyone that gives advice on this site and puts time into writing the strategy guides for everyone like me to read.

Again thanks FTR
