Default Multiple Choice Question - legitimate raise amount

Last night at a local free poker event, a discussion broke out about legitimate raise amounts. I'll give you the example that I used to try to prove my point, and we'll see from the experts here who was right.

    MTT - blinds are 30/60
Hand is dealt and UTG Raises to 200 preflop. Cutoff intends to reraise - what is the next minimum amount they may raise the bet to?

    a) 260
    b) 400
    c) 340
    d) 210
    e) 230

    Let's see who was right...

Minimum should be 400. But the CO should rereaise 3x to see where there at against the UTG.

A minraise would be to 340.

    $340
the UTG raise was $140 and the next raise must be at least size of the last bet or raise
    $200 + rasise $140 = 340

yeah, gotta re raise the size of the raise, if that makes sense.

So 60 to 200 is 140 raise. A min re raise would be 200+140= 340

    Hope that helps

Default Multiple Choice Question - legitimate raise amount

Thank you very much for confirming my facts. You don't know how frustrating to be sitting there arguing the initial bet was 60, be it a blind or not, and the raise was 140.

Random but a good example of variance is that after 3 votes, 400 was winning.
