lol, no... that's not right at all.
upgrading memory is about the simplest thing you can do to a laptop or desktop. there should be an access panel to your ram on the bottom of your laptop. two screws and it's off. most laptops only have two banks for ram, and they're kinda half stacked on top of one another. you put the first stick in at like a 30-45 degree angle, push down to clip it in and then do the same for the second.
i have about a 2 yr old toshiba satelite that came with 1gb and vista premium and upgrading to 4gb for about $40 was the best thing i ever did.
