Multi-Tabling setup

    Default Multi-Tabling setup

my main question is - what size monitor and resolution do you need to comfortably play 8 tables - TILED?

Also curious how many table everyone plays, and how you set it up.

I prefer tiled b/c I can see the hands I have no interest in playing and just get rid of them.

For those mass tablers, how do you do it?

i used to play 8-12 FR tables stacked. nowadays i just play 4 6m tables tiled. looking to bump that up once i become more comfortable playing 6m, better at poker and thus, able to determine the best decisions faster than i do now.

I play 10 tiled, but overlapping a bit, but can view a bit of all tables at all times so each table is only one click away, on a standard laptop.

Tried the stacked method and never had any skill with it.

    2x 24inch monitors for 24 tabling

Dan u must have good eyes! On my laptop I don't like even tiling 6, especially if you get the hud up there ...

I used a 21" for my desktop. the dual 24" sounds nice =)

1920 x 1080. 23" Monitor, observing 9 tables. 8 is no good because Pokerstars tile option bunches it on top half of a monitor.

12 tables overlapped but so you can see part of every table at all times which means you are only 1 click away from any table.

yeh, just remember to be careful where you click!

not so long ago, i clicked a table to bring it forward just as the Call button became active under the mouse.

i found myself in a multiway pot with the wrong hand.

tried to bluff my out of it.

    didn't end well

but seriously...any recommendations on graphics cards for these type of set ups? i think i need to upgrade mine

    thx

I'm not sure you need a good graphic card, I think any piece of junk will work. I have Radeon X700 which is like 8 yr or older card, and never had any trouble.

@ DanAronG's setup, I only see this practical because of table size, but other than that, if you have Table Ninja the table with highest priority will always jump in front of others (or you can press hotkey for next table in priority line), so you don't have to click erratically. It also has perks over stacked multitabling, because this way you can at least to some extent memorize previous actions on tables (if something funky happened), based on table positioning.

sorry - i'm a TechnoDunce...but doesn't the resolution of your graphic card limit the resolution you can get out of the monitor?

and do you need a special card to drive 2 displays at the same time?

Monitor dictates maximum resolution. Graphic cards should support it, since my junk does.

Well, you either need graphic card with two monitor ports, or two graphic cards.
  14. #14
I used to 8-table using 2 monitors with 1600 x 1200 resolution, perfect size and no resizing(like my tables sharp and clear)...

I tried to run 2 monitors off 1 card and the quality was crap - but 2 very basic low grade ones work fine (im sure i only have avg cards now)

The only thing i went cheap on was CPU (6 year old comp) and im regretting it now as HEM2 is a no-go area for me unless i upgrade (i had to slave my HEM HUD to CPU2 just to get it working on 24 tables initially)

i rememebr playing like some of the guys in this thread with 2 tables overlapping and tyhere is no way i could do that now - so difficult.

M2M - how many can you tile on a 30inch monitor? It seems such a lot of money if i cant get 24 on one screen....

480 x 350 is minimum stars table size and 2560x1600 is 30inch resolution so you can tile 20. So you can tile 24 on 30inch with a tiny bit of overlap.

Spend some time on your pokerstars skins and decks guys, that's horrendous to look at.

I don't even play on stars anymore and mine looks like this. How easy is a hud to look at now and see the action and who is still in the hand

I'm super picky about my skin now, i'm so used to the one I use. I find it distracting to play on other sites because the skin is different. Every time I try a site other than Stars I never like it and just quite. too much other sh1t going on lol

I play 24 tables stacked. I just have an old 21 inch LCD and have them all on the one screen. I prefer it to tiling as there is less head and eye movement.

yeah that was my rationale for stacking when i used to play multiple tables. only downer is you obviously miss out on some reads from dynamic and gameflow, like when that 57bber to your left starts open jamming every hand but you don't know because you've folded before he acts every time.

DanArons is actually great skin, because u can easily place HEMs HUD so it doesn't overlap with anything (bet amount, who is in hand, stack sizes, etc). Those themes with circles are usually annoying that way, hard to place stats when multitabling.

that's actually the one i'm currently using, too

but would like to know where jyms got his from coz:
    a) it's kinda funky and
    b) it's not one of the official PS themes AFAIK

Seems like these all can be easily modified if you got any photoshop skills. But you will overwrite existing installed theme, which should be no problem if you don't like it anyways.

only problem with mods like jyms is that they oftyen arent compatible with table ninja (major downer) but they can be made to be when you arent useless at the internets like me!
  34. #34
I made mine from a Full tilt table and a bunch of free mods in this thread

Pokerstars Theme (free) [main Poker Stars mods thread] - Page 371 - Gambling and Poker Software Forum

I don't use Table Ninja but if I did, I would just use the proper decks available and certain base themes

I have a 22" monitor with 1680x1050 resolution, which I use as my main monitor. I used to stack tables when I played SnGs, but find stacking confusing for cash. I tile the tables for cash, but have them slightly overlapping when I play 6 tables, or overlapping more when I play 9 tables.

I use an Xbox 360 controller to control all of the action, so the only time I use the mouse is to mark hands on HEM. I then watch the marked hands back after the session and make all of my notes.

I run HEM on a 19" monitor, next to the 22".

I think thee's a 360 controller designed for the pc that you can also use on the xbox, but standard xbox controllers won't work on PC. Google it.

The standard wired controller just plugs into the USB port and installs automatically on Vista. You may need to download a driver for XP, I'm not sure. If you have a wireless controller, you obviously need to buy the wireless PC receiver.

Then you can just set the controller buttons as hotkeys with an AHK script, or download Xpadder, which does the same thing.

Just thought I'd mention this tool for multi-tabling Stack and Tile, with this I can play 16 tables on 1 monitor easy.
