Default Missed betting or smart checks/calls?

    Guys,
I got a little lost on the turn/river on this hand.
Can you guys give me some advice on how I should have played it?

I put my skirt on and wimped out.

UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero raises, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB 3-bets, UTG+1 calls, Hero caps, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

    Flop: (12.40 SB) 5, 8, 7 (3 players)
BB bets, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

    Turn: (9.20 BB) J (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

    River: (9.20 BB) J (3 players)

Is capping PF w/QQ the best idea? I think just call the 3-bet. ("I think" being the operative phrase there).

I'm most concerned with UTG+1, but I don't know his previous plays. If he's solid and cold-calling all of that, I'd worry that he hit his flush (though he isn't getting pot odds... maybe he hit a set on the flop? But why would he call the PF cap with a medium PP and only two players? Maybe he's just fishy and you can mostly ignore him). Don't know what BB has, but he also appears scared of the flush.

Having an over-pair, I'd guess you should bet/call the river.

(oh wow, this is microlimits. I really wouldn't worry about UTG+1 then, and also not so much about capping, I suppose.)

I think you have the best hand here.
    If I had a hammer
    I'd drop in the morning
    I'd drop in the evening..

I cap pre-flop here without a read too.

Bet the turn, think about folding to a raise. Fail that, a river bet is easy.

    Thanks for the input..

For the record, QQ held up and I missed out on a bunch of bets

You should be somewhat confident you have the best hand after the flop betting (noone re-raised you). The turn looks a bit scarey but they checked to you, so there either slow playing or dont have anything. In either case, you need to bet it and see where you stand. Any re-raise at that point probably means your beat... However, I probably would stay-in since I might pick-up a Q-high flush on the river. I would also think your opps would make a move on the turn (if they had a set, straight, or flush), but agruably they might just wait until the river (especially if they have have a high flush) before raising. Ultimately, I think you are losing money in the long run by not betting the turn in these situations.
