Minimum or Maximum buyin?

hi, i apologize in advance if this is a stuipd question....but would you recommend starting out w/ the max buyin or the min buyin?

the reason why i'm asking is because i recently started playing on .01/.02 tables that have a min buyin of $1 and a max of $5. orginally, i always sat down with $5 because from what i understand....stack size = strength?. but after playing a few tables and seeing a majority of the people i sit down with start with $1-$2, i'm not sure if that's the correct thing to do anymore.

any advice on the matter? thanks in advance

Buy in with whatever will allow you to take most of the chips on the table when you have a monster. When I played .01/.02 I bought in with 2$ b/c that covered pretty much everyone on the table.

so, if everybody at the table has $2-3...i should buyin for 2-3? what if there is a few $2-3 and one or two $5-6? $4? lol

Match the biggest stack at the table if you can.

Generally you want to buy in for the maximum or near the maximum, i tend to buy in for 3/4 of the max and rebuy if i drop below half.

Times you might not want to max out are when you may want to blend in with the fish or if you've just moved up in limits and you're not quite comfortable with the thought of losing a whole buyin.
