Maximum $$$/Hour

So it has come on me finally to deside what I should really focus on for my income. I'm at the point now that my bankroll is comfortable, and that I can play high-mid stakes. But what game should I focus on?

My problem has really been playing a little NL Cash, a little limit, a SNG and a Few MTTs. This make the night lively, but it is harder, and definately doesn't maximize my hourly rate. This is what i'm interested in mostly. With a second place to expandability and ease of play.

First of, NL Holdem cash - I think this is probably my best game right now. It has a very strong hourly winrate, and the highest limits are... really high. Becoming more than just a 'good' player not only lets me move up, but improves winrate significantly.

Second, we have limit Holdem - I am definately not a great limit player, but I am decent. I can quickly learn, and that isn't the problem. A mid to high limit player can not only play more tables than a No Limit player, I do not think it would be as difficult. What i mean by this, is that I don't have to debate over how much i'm betting or typing the bet ammounts in. A mistake here only costs me 1BB while in no limit it costs me my whole stack.

Third is SnGs. With limit, real easy to set up and play. They can be played much more systematically than any other setup. The drawback i see is that, you really can't go over the 200$ level...

The last is MTTs - I just don't know here. The swings are high and you have to plan your time around the tournies, not the other way around. This is a big drawback for me. BUT, and a big but; MTTs are the path to online poker fame. My ego needs to be stroked every so often or I get upset


I guess what i'm looking for here is input from some of the readers. What haven't I put into consideration? Help me out here!

Talk to elipsejeff some, he'll tell you what you should do if you're gonna take the limit route, he 8 tables $30-60 for a living now.

You forgot to mention bonuses. If you have a high bankroll, taking advantage of bonuses while you play can be a significant part of income. This is where playing cash games is more worthwhile. Rakeback too.

Since I am a NL player, it makes sense that I recommend NL. If your hourly rate is strong then stick at it. You can only get better and can move up to even bigger games faster if you choose. Eventually you can make great money at both, but just for the sake of it the time spent 'relearning' limit, I'd stick with what I'm good at.

I have one guy buddylisted at party who play 2K NL all the time, up to 8 tables at a time. Although I have no proof (don't datamine), I'm sure he's making a killing.
