Making Money - 6/9man Regular, Turbo or Ultra Turbo?

Hello,
I have known the rules of poker my whole life, and I learned Texas Hold'em some years ago, however recently I just got into actually learning the game and the way it is played right. I had a teacher who showed me some of the ropes to betting and how to play winning tourney poker, and I'm learning now how to practice good bankroll management via articles on the internet on my own. My friend/teacher taught me in the online Ultra Turbo 6 Man SnG's. Now I am at the point where my money is just starting to turn around and i place in about 66% of my SnG's generally.
I love 6 man Sng's, and I love the fast paced action of Ultra Turbo, however I want to keep my money under as much of my control as possible and I'm starting to get the feeling that Ultra Turbo might weigh in heavier on luck than a regular holdem SnG would. So my questions to you guys would be:

1.) Should I switch to regular SnG's if I want to be serious about building my bankroll?
2.) If I do switch over to reg SnG's should I move from 6man to 9man, does it matter? Where skill seems to weigh in more in reg SnG's there might be a much better chance to place in 9man because there are 3 money winners rather than only 2 and the money would be better as well.
3.) What things should I keep in mind when and if i do make the transition from Ultra Turbo strategy wise?


I appreciate responses from almost anyone and everyone, however I am looking to build my game off the teachings of experts with real experience so if you could in half a sentence tell me your level of experience with SnG Hold'em it would be very much appreciated as well.

I would avoid sngs like the plague. They're the easiest format of poker to "figure out" and offer the smallest edges, the fewest interest spots and the least room for improvement

I've only played 9 Man Regular SnG's and I would think that would be the most profitable. Generally speaking, I think Regular would be more profitable than Turbo because there's more time to maneuver, play poker, and exploit edges. I think 9 players is just a better sweet spot of players to deal with - more fish and people to fight against each other, pick your spots, switch gears, and the like, but not too many people so it's just one table. It's probably unique for each player, but that's my opinion for me and I would guess many others.

Generally speaking, I think cash games are the best money makers and tournaments are more fun

I would agree with this logic. Although, I don't generally play a lot of SnGs for the reasons described, by a500lbgorilla. Also, I end up playing ultra turbos because that are a lot of fun

I find the action junkie in me likes the super turbos also. That being said the swings are ridiculous IMO. I don't have a lot of time for poker so I'm often playing 1 set of 4 games and I tend to make them regulars. I don't have the numbers on this comp but my ROI is better on reg's.
