Default LOL - discovered major leak in my game last night

Last night started out as a good night. 3 tabling 25NL, I found myself up 3 buyins within 45 minutes ... sweet. Then, I funny sound went off in my head ... it sounded like "hee haw ... hee haw". Odd.

Over the next hour, I proceeded to lose half of my evening's profits. How you ask? There's the leak. I experienced a mini-version of the Newbie Circle of Death.

Sitting with at least 2x the stack of anyone else at the table, that K 10 os looked goot from UTG. Hey, if I flop a monster, I'm gonna stack someone. Sure it's not my normal play, but hell, I got the chips to gamble. Next hand, flop your flush draw OOP and just c-bet the crap out of it. I hit the last time (of course I had position then) and some poor sucker never saw what hit him. Uh oh, now it's the river and a couple of my outs are tainted. What the hell, let's try to take the pot now. Why? Because I got the chips to do it.

It finally dawned on me that I was playing like an idiot ... so I quit for the night. Hopefully I can fix this leak the next time.

Happens to a lot of people when they get a big stack or are on a hot streak. You get overconfident because everything you are doing is working and then you start to play donk hands thinking you are da bomb. Turns out that the cards eventually catch up to you and you lose everything you just made....sux, but just emphasizes why you need to keep playing your game no matter what. Whether you are doing well or poorly, you need to keep playing your A game.

It stops when you get used to it.
