    Default Limping AK utg

Is this the best way to play this from this position?
i play mostly 6 max but still i only raise QQ KK or AA from utg nothing else (maybe JJ depends) prefer to limp everything else and catch someone playing lesser cards in lp

i just love the idiots who mini raise with Ax suited catch an ace then wonder why i just fired a 3x reraise at them and they then push.
But i was wondering if its the right play always? or does it help to play a little tighter with it. I can easily rep any face card on the flop

limp-reraising is a good play at a loose table, but every time you limp big cards youre playing with the blinds. and thats a shitty move on every possible level.

if you seriously cant play big cards out of position, fold it. limping is the worst move.

i tend toward the opposite, table dependent.

raise, b/c if not.. like what journey said, you are only playing w/ the blinds. A/K is worth a lot more than that.

Short handed (5-6 players) I raise AJs and up from any position to 5BB. Sometimes even worse if table image allows it.

I'll raise AK from any position. In EP i'll then cont bet at weak tight opps or check it if i miss against Loose/aggro opps. AK was my biggest losing hand at 50 NL but i'm up 1.2 BB/hand at 100NL. I got in so much trouble continuation betting and getting pot struck, now i can let it go and check the turn if i'm getting called down.

Raise it from UTG. You want to be up against hands that you dominate like KQ or AJ. You don't want to be up against hands like JTos or Q9s which have two live cards against you.

From my point of view, u want as few players as possible in the flop with AK - so u have to raise - feel free to fold if the flop doesnt hit you and someone pushes hard. But its better then got beaten by SB/BB who limped in with banana.

Precisly the reason i limp anything but AA KK QQ and JJ from utg in 6 max.
There might be only 6 ppl at the table but position is still so important.

Two things here. First if i continuation bet its the same amount as when i have the goods. Simply makes me a little tougher to read post flop. So if someone comes over me i can fold if my AK missed no problem, say on a Q high flop. But, i tend to be able to buy enough pots with second best hands post flop of a raise simply becasue i come in the pot strong but always the same. A weak continuation bet would be an absolute tell that i dont have the best hand.
