Default Lessons I've learned so far.

I want to post all the lessons I've learned in poker in this thread with a hand history of each topic. Mostly as a reminder to myself of what I did wrong and why not to do it again but all comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Lesson 1)
Don't raise a raiser with AQ. Because he might have AK. AQ is dominated too easily. Fold AQ to a respectable PFR.

I basically had no outs here.

This is highly dependant on the number of players and stack size (as is everything else in poker)
On a full or close to full tabke you are correct.

When the table get short handed (5 players or less) it is often incorrect to fold AQ to a raise

    Damn! Where to start?!?!

    1. AXs is over-rated.
    2. KJ, QJ, KT and QT look much better than they really are.
    3. Don't give out free cards if your hand is vulnerable to a draw (I'm thinking flopping sets with flush and str8 draws available)
    4. AA is not invincible

Give me time, I'll come up with more .....

Yea sorry I should have clarified, I was talking specifially about full ring. In a situation where people may be raising down to A8 or whatever this isn't so true.

    Lesson 2

    Be aggressive throughout the hand.
I know this is pretty standard but there was a time when I wouldn't have raised the flop and I would have bet scared on the turn.

I think some people would be supprised how many folds aggressive betting can induce without having the absolute nuts. And if the opp has the nuts you find that out quickly.
