Default laid down the top pair, made me doubt my whole game

No limit with 9 players blinds are 5 & 5. Mostly loose aggressive players at the table.

    I am cutoff, dealt A A.
The man UTG calls $5, he is a new player no read on him, but seems loose.
Everyone Folds to me, I raise to $30,
Button calls, button is a loose player will call with lots of connectors or suited one gappers.
The guy under the gun calls

    FLOP
    9d 7d 7c

    UTG checks, I bet $75
The button raises me another $100 to , UTG calls $175
I think...he would play a 78, 67, 57, 79...I fold...they bet the pot up on the turn and river, button misses the flush, the KK checked the river, wins the hand. I missed a payoff.

Button was on a flush draw....UTG had pocket kings...
I feel like an idiot. Was it a bad fold, bad bet, or should I be playing online freerolls.

as weird as it is to me that KK didn't reraise preflop, UTG is obviously drawing and I doubt the button would be reraising like that with a 7 since he'd know he's the only one with it and if you had ak/aq he'd want you to hit a pair or two, and he'd want the other guy to stay in.

I think it's too stiff of a laydown. Even though the button could very well have a 7, there are a number of other hands he could have since he's a loose player, from TT-QQ to a 9 to just overcards and/or a draw, to maybe even a pure bluff (if he read you as trying to buy the pot). I think you can rule out 97, 99, and 77 b/c he would slowplay if he flopped a boat I imagine. Many players will also slowplay when they hit a set with a pair on the board, so if he had a tendency to do that, then you could read his raise as meaning he doesn't have a 7. With that much money in the pot on the flop, you have to be pretty damn sure his $100 raise means he has a set of 7's to make that laydown.

    Thanks, even to you ilikeaces...

And if you're willing to make this type of laydown, then you should probably not be playing freerolls, since you seem to be tight and observant enough to do well playing NL cash games.

I'd say an overpair is much more likely than a hand with a 7. When he calls such a huge raise, you have to assume he has at least a moderately high pair when you have two aces. This is a pretty easy call.
