Kill Button?

I'd thought I'd seen something in either this forum or another forum about the kill button, but now when I go to find it, I can't seem to.

Anyway here's the question...
Over the weekend I was playing at Harrah's in KC, and each pot included with it the kill button. It was only used twice, but the dealer really didn't give a very good explanation of how it was used. I just mucked my junk hands preflop anyway so it didn't matter, but does anyone play the kill regularly or knows the specifics?

BTW Harrah's in KC...3-6...smells like tuna. I raked in a pot with four callers with 8s full of 9s beating a pair of threes, A2, and K10 all staying to the river. I was almost shocked these people still had chips in front of them.

I have never played at Harrahs 3/6. I have played once at Ameristar 3/6 and I am currently getting ready to take on either Harrah's or Isle's $100 NL table.

As for the kill pot, I am curious of specifics as well. I can tell you how Ameristar's works on their 3/6.

If a player wins 2 pots in a row, the next hand is a kill pot. No matter what position he is in, he must place 2X the big blind before the hand begins. This is in addition to the blinds, or if the kill person has a blind, it is instead of his regular blind. To play in a kill pot, you must at least call this 2X BB bet. After the pre-flop action, the hand is played as normal. They usually put the KILL button in front of someone after they won, then flipped it over after they won their second pot to show the current hand is a kill pot. They say something different on both sides, but I don't think I ever saw a kill pot while I sat down.

The kill pots I play are "double limit" games

Someone wins 2 pots in a row, the game goes from 2/4 -> 4/8

or 3/6 -> 6/12

The person who "killed" the pot has to post the "Kill" ($6 for a $6/12 kill pot)

One side said "Leg Up" and the other had "Kill" I know. I'm supposing leg up is to indicate the winner of the previous pot.

Also I recall the player who won the kill button elected on a hand to make the next hand a kill hand. Maybe I spaced out and he won two pots in a row, but how I remember it is he had decided to play it as a kill pot. I don't know if that's the procedure or not.

I know I'd be annoyed if I started running over those guys and had to post the kill only to pull up 3-8o in middle position.

This was my first time playing in a casino and even then only for three hours. Took home 60 bucks playing pretty selective and was quite amazed at some of the hands people flipped up on showdown. Very enticing indeed.

I think Harrah's has their 100 NL game Thursday nights. The other night they had a 100+10 SNG tourney at the other table, and there was talk of opening a 5/10 game. Otherwise I think it was just 3/6. They had an Omaha bad beat jackpot but I never heard any announcements for open seats for Omaha tables.
