JJ on a drawy board against loose player

The villain had been calling alot pre but had folded before i saw any hands. The range I put him on is 77+, AJ+, and 78s +. (haven't been doing ranges long how does this look?). I bet out on the flop and was flat called. I check setted the turn and checked he raises and I called to see one more and on the river i bet out .15 and he shoves at this point I think he has over pairs but is there a chance he has a 4? is this a snap call or fold?

The above assumes that you know what pot odds and equity are and how they relate. If you don't, read everything you find in the articles section of the forum about pot odds and bet sizing. Also read all the threads by Spoonitnow. And read this book: no limit theory and practice by Sklansky.

In the meantime, if you don't know how much to bet, 2/3rd of the pot is a decent default size.

It's a start but you should vary this according to villain's stats or tendencies and his position if he is positionally aware. For example if you have seen him call a lot preflop, and he is on the button which makes his range even wider, you could widen his calling range to something like (assuming he would reraise AA, KK and QQ), 22-JJ, AT+, A2s+, 67s+, 97s+, KQ

Continue the process by assigning him subranges of this preflop range following each of his actions on subsequent streets. Don't forget: the range can only shrink as you go.
