    Default January Graphers

    All 25NL FR
The shot at 50NL has been put on hold.
Too much FPS, not finding the fold button, and run bad, respectively toward the end of the month.

Felt I played well up til my last few sessions and then massively spewed. Got my head back together for Feb. Volumes kinda low but 10k was my target for the month cos I'm playing fewer tables and have less time.

No doubt in my mind I'll be beating 5nl By the end of the month. Looking forward to 10.

Not a great month. Not a terrible one either. I came down with viral pharyngitis early in the month and didn't play for about 10 days. I was also pretty lazy even when healthy. I definitely intend to put in more volume this month.

Hoopy! your graphs always look like that for some reason dude. hmm

In the interests of full disclosure:

    I barely played; about 25% 10NL, rest 25s.

Plus 50$ or so in MTT winnings, maybe 15$ in rakeback. Yay!

  24. #24
I had IRL stuff to deal with so I only played 22K hands in the last 4 mos., so I'll post that graph. I played 10 NL as usual and things were going pretty good, I thought. Then in December, the doomswitch got flipped. I lost lots of stacks as a 80% or better favorite all-in on the Turn. After several of those, I made some bad calls for 2 or 3 stacks and decided I had to change something. So, I dropped to 5 NL and my luck changed immediately.

    I played 5800 hands at 10.3 ptbb/100 hands for +12 buyins.

lol ya I'd be up for that if you want. never done a prop before so don't really know where to start.

I guess I could look though my HEM and find out # of hours I played in both Dec and Jan, then increase it for my Feb target. If we're going to do one it might be a good idea to have some sort of an early buyout, not only cause I'm a prop bet noob, but also cause it would suck for you to feel like you have to put in hours if you hit a downswing while on a stake.

Dunno, maybe you're not too worried about that. I'm open to whatever.

I was doing well until I moved up to 50NL, then I kept running into set-over-set and suckouts. At least, I hope it's just run-bad. Still rolled for 50NL, so here's hoping February is better than January.

What is your total volume at 25NL NG?

20K hands, 7 ptbb/100. You can tell there was a bit of a heater at the end of 25NL, too, which was nice.

Oops, Sorry, I didn't know anybody even read that. It wasn't meant to be a mystery. Everybody is a little bit right on though. The main thing is that I took Poker a lot more serious. Like A LOT more. I feel like I got a coach, because I put in a lot of learning time and leak finding.

I really put into practice a lot that I learned from here and other places. Stopped giving hookers orgasms, and put people on a god damn range etc... I stopped spewing all over the place, and learned how to play against specific villains better. It's nice when you know you can induce a player to bet and raise for you, and bluff catch etc.. At the same time I stopped being as much of a Pay Off Wizard.

I improved a lot in learning when to bet, and why I am betting against ranges instead of clicking buttons.

I also played a mix of limits, so that's why the graph is a little messed up. I struggled at 10NL then 10NL seemed easy when I tried to get to 25NL in the past. Then when I finally got comfortable at 25NL, I couldn't play 10NL anymore. I always tried to play on autopilot multi-tabling which just killed me. I get bored easily, so I feel that I have to multi-table plus watch TV, read online etc... I turned into a robot who constantly leaked money, and therefore I was not as big of a winner as I should have been.

Moving up limits actually really helped me focus, and stop these really bad habits that I learned.

I know that I ran really good, but being +EV is actually a symptom of playing a certain way. I have a theory that has also really helped in spiking my graph. I'll have to keep an eye on that to see if my theory is correct. But running with Jesus is always fun too! I'll have to check my database to see how many foot prints there were. I ran really good at the higher limits as you can see below.

24,000 hands in is when I said FU to .10NL, and played a mixture of higher limits. Up to this mark was .10NL and .25NL

    Break Down:
    1NL $538 2,100 hands 12.63 BB/100
    .50NL $630 8,000 hands 7.89 BB/100
    .25NL $1165 40,000 hands 5.78 BB/100
    .10NL $-68 12,500 hands - /100

This is kinda like the boywonder threads on 2p2 where he says that his biggest advantage is 'emotional stability', concentrating and actually doing the things he already knew how to do, that allowed him to crush midstakes, not any secret strategy or anything. Cool, good post.

It's advanced paper rock scissors. You learned the rules, and you see what other people are doing against you over hundreds of hands. Simply Adjust. How many times are you going to see somebody go "Rock" in a row before you realize maybe you should go "Paper" until they adjust?

Example: There are no coolers.... (4bet,5bet NIT with a crazy image) This only works with REGS, and should not be used to blow fish out of the pot. That is always a big mistake.

If somebody is raising preflop a lot, then 3bet them every couple orbits until they start 4betting/flatting. (assuming they fold to our 3bets) Wait a few orbits, and start over again. Eventually we will be in control when "we" want to get it all in preflop. They will get pissed enough to get it in lighter then they normally are used to. Not to mention get owned in 3bet pots with small over PP's to our KK AA. Regs go nuts with small over PP's forgetting that it's a 3bet or 4bet pot. (They don't understand how big of a range crushes them when the money gets in) That is the reason why my EV graph is like that. Regs go on Tilt when they think somebody is outplaying them. They can't handle it, and want to JAM to fight back ASAP. It's a complete setup.... Also do this on multiple tables against an opponent, and keep an eye on our 3bet% at each table. Polarize/Unpolarize your ranges if OOP or IP.

Is poker really not that complicated? hmm...

Also LOL if you were waiting for me to drop some MAGICAL GEM for LUCKBOXING

If you read/watch videos you already know "what to do", but do you really practice it? Something that I did was record a session, and watched it. Be your own coach. Try to justify your plays after the fact. Your better then you think you are, so start acting like it. That's my advice. Oh, and be patient!!!

So you would rather come back into the thread, and read another post and then type an answer instead of typing two more zeros?
