Just as it does online or at home, the number of limpers in a B&
M game depends greatly on the limits. In a 2/4 game at my local
casino we consistantly see 5-7 limpers per hand. 3/6 is about 4-6 but more or less the same, with slightly (and I mean VERY slightly) smarter play after the
flop.
I find in 2/4 that people will ride 88 until the
river with tons of overcards out there trying to make something out of it. Or they will play connected or
suited anything from any
position.
One time a guy sitting next to my girlfriend was about to
fold after the
river, showed her his hand and said "It's a shame to have to
fold pretty cards like these." He was holding 36s with absolutely nothing going for him.
In 3/6 I see a little bit more
PFR, but the quality of play isnt really that much better. It is a little bit, but nothing to get excited about. It seems like there are more hands that end before it comes to a
showdown, especially if there's someone at the table with a big enough
bankroll to start bullying people around. Even then, those tactics only work for those people about 1 out of every 7 times they try them...the rest of the time people bet right into them forever and they make a killing.
