Default i see a small pattern

After about 2,500 hands of 2NL and really sucking, (down 5 buy-ins) i have noticed somewhat of a pattern. I seem to be winning the 20-30 cent pots and loosing the $1 size.

One thing i've noticed is that my TPTK is getting beat by overpair. Each time i have been in position, villian has raised and i 3bet and they flat call. My AJ or AQ will hit and without a drawy board i bet 2/3-3/4 of pot and they flat again. I guess my question is, is now the time to slow down or do i keep firing? I guess two flats ought to tell me something? ALSO, in general does winning small pots and loosing big pots indicate overplaying non nut hands?

It sounds to me like you are just taking in too loose a preflop range.... esp. if your TPTK's are getting beat by overpairs a lot.... esp. at 2NL you can make crazy profit by just running 17/15 stacking people with your monsters.

Oh, also 2,500 hands is a very very small sample so don't get discouraged and don't give too too much weight to the statistical results so far....

AJ, AQ are not brilliant hands to 3b with because of what you've noticed... when you get stacks in post flop, you're usually no good. Call and keep the hands in that you dominate.

Yes very good point, 3-betting for value with AJ and AQ is a bad idea, just flat preflop with these hands (and often fold AJ depending on who the original raiser is)
