You were what we call a "Calling Station"

Your JJ is a good hand preflop, but you should have re-raised it a good amount preflop. You want to realy narrow the field to one person or take the hand before even seeing the flop here.

On the flop you are faced with a 1/2 pot bet. This is likley to be a probe bet from the other player, he's looking for information here. If you had re-raised it to say 3 (the size of the pot at this point) you would probably have taken it right there.

Once the A showed up on the turn you should know you are beat... two overcards (face cards even) on the board against a player that raised preflop. If you didn't believe he had the king (why else call on the folp?) why would you believe he didnt have an A either? Time to let it go.

Show strength preflop, show more strength on the flop. If he came over the top of you on the flop, then you should have let it go (barring a good read on the player for a bluff like that).

    Some questions for you.
Why did you call the bet on the flop?
Why did you bet the river?

I may have made the same play on the flop (I just want to hear what you were thinking) but I think, especially since you hadn't put much money in, that the river would be an easy fold. You missed on a set and the odds that someone has an ace and has now beaten your paired Jacks are really pretty good.

Well to be honest with you all, i got upset, once the river Ace came i knew i really screwed up and should have raised earlier, but 1 of my main problems is i am scared to bet, or I go way to the other extreme. and Tdog was in a lot of hands and stealing a lot of blinds so i was not sure he had it.

But bottom Line i got upset at myself and found a reason to call

Why are you scared to bet? Scared money doesn't make money. If it is too painful too put the chips in the pot, you need to acquire more chips before sitting at the table. Have enough of a bankroll that it's okay if you lose the buyin once in a while as long as you are playing correctly. You have to get your chips in the pot while your hand is still best. If they want the chance to make a better hand than what you have, you have to make it expensive for them to do so.
