Default I just couldn't make the laydown...

Is it obvious I was beat here? The guy was very LAG and I figured he was doing this on his TP.

at $10NL against a player viewed as a lagg, or often is the case a maniac, Im not going to fold this. maybe a leak on my part? I dunno, but against players who would do this with A9, TT+, etc. you will come out ahead in the long run.

All I could think looking at the flop is I know this guy is a LAG, he plays 1/4 of his hands and bluffs every other hand he plays, and my KK is an investment so i called.

While I realize this should go in the bad beats section, the point here is do you usually go all the way with your AA KK AK when faced with situations and players like this? I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away.

Yes I do if he was playing like you described, he luckboxed out. You can expect him to be holding all sorts of junk you beat when you call. The really annoying thing is then watching him lose it to someone else

    I'm calling.

Keep betting it that way. His kind will fold at the river after chasing more than they catch. You'll make your share off him more than he'll ever get from you. Patience and pot odds kill his kind.

Against a rock or TAP I fold.Against a TAG/semi solid player my read will be the tie breaker of calling or folding.Against a maniac I am calling/pushing this in a heartbeat.

How do the people play at 5NL? Do they push whenever they hit the nuts? Or is it often that push on draws/air/TP? If not, and pushing is a sign that says "hey I just hit a monster and I want to get paid!" then lay it down..

Btw I have problems laying this down too and I consider it a leak of mine.

This flop I'd fold all day every day. If I hit a set (say I went 4xbb with 88/99) I'd call out of spite knowing that I'm behind.

You bet big preflop, he over bet the pot on the flop, you raised his over bet and he pushed. You are beat. It's obvious you have an overpair, and he's saying he's beaten it. Beleive him and fold. (He could have a set, or two pair just as easily) I'd only call if I've seen him recently bet like this (push to a reraise heads up on the flop) with only top pair.

This really isn't a bad beat as you got all your money in behind. (I've done it many times myself with AA/KK/QQ).

At $5/$10NL Pushing on the flop = nuts on flop (or a slowplayed AA).

People will usually push on the river if they hit their miracle card or they have a monster of a hand just to hope they get called.

I would probably fold. He is overbetting the pot like crazy and not only could he already have a made hand but even if he has a solid draw your KK is going to be a sweat going to the river. I agree that it seems like you are beaten here. I would pick a better spot for that $10 than here...
Sometimes the nuts just get crushed

This is a fold. Don't post results.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
