I have a problem :(

    Default I have a problem :(

This is extremely depressing, and I don't know what to do to turn it around. In February I didn't play many hands - I was just starting off and I knew my poker education wasn't very deep. So late February I got involved here, and I started using Poker Tracer to evaluate my play and others. In March I made an effort to play more hands, and already I've played as many as I did in all of February, but not with good results. I'm not doing massive multitabling or anything that would weaken my concentration, I'm just putting in more hours.

    Here is February:

    ... and this is March:

Starting with a $50 bankroll I had won ~$75 in February. Now in March my bankroll is down to almost half of my initial deposit (and the chart should actually dip a bit lower than it does, for some reason Poker Tracker won't import one of my sessions).

So I went into Poker Tracker and filtered to see where I'm losing money in March. Of my total losses these are the big culprits:

    AK (-$37.82)
    JJ (-$28.86)
    99 (-14.00)
    AA (-13.25)
    AQs (-8.50)
    76s (-7.40)

It drops off a bit from there, but all but the last one is a quality starting hand, so I'm obviously doing something really wrong. So that I'm not biasing what you see I'm going to post the last six of each of those, win or lose. If I can remember my read I'll post it below the hand title.

Villain is an ultra aggressor. He had been throwing his weight around the whole session. The next hand shown is actually the same exact villain one hand prior. I went up against him twice in a row with AKo.

    AA
I don't even need to post these. One I posted already and I was going to have to lose my stack on it from the feedback I got, the rest include me betting around 3/4 of the pot and getting called until a scare card comes for me, which I overbet on and they of course have. Aside from the overbet I really don't know how to play aces anymore though. Should I just shove in pre-flop or what? I can't possibly bet enough to scare off draws, and when I do bet the pot on the flop I get raised by some ass who called a 4x preflop bet with 74 and made two pair. Do I toss the 3-4x the big blind pre-flop raise standard at these levels and overbet my good hands pre-flop or what?

    AQs
I only lost big on one hand, though I was still losing money if you average the rest. At this point it's obvious I have a denial problem with quality starting hands post-flop.

First off waaaaay to many hands.

2nd, retardedly small sample. I've played 1.5k hands in a day 4 tabling. Go find the February results thread and you will see downswing/break even stretches 20x longer than you've been playing poker by every poster.

Third, I stopped reading at your first JJ hand. You got it all in pre-flop vs QJ. This is a good thing and you seem to have no idea why. If you do know why did you post this hand?

What you need to do is go back through these hands and try to find maybe 3 hands where you're not sure what went on and start a new thread asking a specific question and then trying to understand the answer.

    ^^^ What he said.

You are a little below breakeven over 3k hands. That doesn't mean much at all. That's not to say you couldn't have done better with better play (I didn't look at the hands, too many), but you shouldn't ever be too excited or disturbed by the results of a random 3k hand stretch.

gawd thats a lot of hands that no one unless they have a lot of time on their hands is going to reply to. but yeah like swig said that is such an incredibly small sample that you cant judge anything. also, if your b.r. was at $125 at beginning of march, you shouldnt have been playing 10nl, and certainly shouldve dropped down when you reached $100. standard b.r. rule is 25 buy ins per level. 20 is okay to take a shot at, but be wary of how many buy ins you lose and drop down immediately after like 2 bi.

I wasn't really looking for analysis of each hand. Many aren't special other than the fact that they are the most recent. My intention was to take a representative sample so that you could scan through them to see any glaring weaknesses that I'm repeating and may not even be aware of. I guess I wasn't thinking that it was that hard to scan.

The thing about dropping levels is that there is nowhere to drop to. On Absolute 0.05/0.10 is as low as it goes.

Understood on the sample size. I'm probably being too sensitive because I haven't really determined yet if I can play worth a damn. So this has knocked my confidence in a way that 3000 hands might not have if I'd already had many more under my belt.

I'm just going to throw out two options that you should consider if you haven't already, although there are likely other options as well.

My suggestion #1: Transfer your monies from AP to Stars, and move down.

My suggestion #2: Come to #flopturnriver (there's info about this in a sticky in the community forum).

It drops off a bit from there, but all but the last one is a quality starting hand, so I'm obviously doing something really wrong.
This is not necessarily the case. In February my worst hands at 200nl were KK, AK, AA, JJ, 86s (wtf), AQ, and QQ in that order over more than 30k hands. Variance happens, but the mental impact it has will kill you on a small (in terms of buy-ins) bankroll.
