i continue to learn...

i know in the past i have had good swing and bad swings, overall moving into the positive.

i am playing 45/180 mtt's which i play mostly for enjoyment, obviously its more enjoyable when i win. i also know these will give you bigger swings due to high variance.

im just happy i have started to recognise when i am playing poorly and can more effectively define between bad play and variance as often i think there can be a fine line.

i tend to do well when i have an image which suits my style and sometimes do poorly because im playing the same way assuming i have the same image... which i dont in some cases.

this has seemed to reduce my loss to win ratio.

Whether this be the ramblings on a tipsy man or not just my thoughts at this time.

table image? are you playing NL400?

do you think you dont develop a table image at stakes below 400NL? or that a table image has no impact at lower limits?

In tournaments you can certainly game an image, even at levels as low as the $2.20 and $4.40 180mans.

Yes, but people do not adjust. If you're really aggressive, they just sit there and think "oh man let me just get a good hand and take this guy's stack" they don't play back at you

at NL50 anyway
tournaments are a totally different beast, so I don't know

you will find out in the micor tourneys, you cannot as hard as you try, to force people to play smart. Most opponents have the mentality of "im going to play bad, and you cant stop me" . I cant count the timed i had flopped a set with 55 on a Q85 board, and told the whole room watch how bad this person plays Ace rag against my set, then they over bet the flop and i shove and they insta-call my shove, only to turn over Ace 8 and i stack them.

Then they sign up for the next micro sng and pretend nothing happened, and they proceed to bust out early of the next 5 tourneys they play.

no, because a lot of the regs are nits and wait for good hands to take people's stacks anyway

I can't tell you how many times I thought a reg was playing back at me and shoved only to find out he had AA preflop or a set on the flop

the thing with micro stakes is that there is a lot of retards giving away their money. naturally because of this it can become profitable for better players.

you cannot assume everyone at these tables is a retard. so deep in a 180 man where you have been having a bit of action, those better players will recognise if you are a decent player or another idiot and will in turn give you a little more respect.

this allows you to make an extra steel etc here and there which can give you that extra boost in chips.

all i was really saying was that i had a tendancy to go from a finishing 180 man into a new one and play exactly as i was 5 minutes earlier which was a mistake.

again just my thoughts.

Nut campers aside, small stakes players are still capable of adjusting to your play. Do they all? No. But is everyone who plays NL100 good? No. Playing with the assumption that others can't/won't adjust to you at small stakes is bad poker.

I'm not saying no one will adjust, but I doubt you can say that you have a "table image"

you have more like "how much did I piss this person off?" image because people generally don't pay attention to hands they're not in, only how much you're three-betting THEM or how much you're check-raising THEM
