    Default Hypothetical question

Lets say I started off with bankroll of $250 playing $25 n/l and couple 10+1 SNGs here and there. I play 2 tables when I play the cash games. It's been like 2 1/2 week's since then and I'm now up $280 ($530). Considering the fact that I play two tables, a few downswings here and there. Is my EV right on target?? Or should I be making more. I play an average of 3-4 hours a day 2-tabling.
"I want to win money so I play the worst. If I could find a group of 2nd graders with $200 bankrolls I would play them."

After 2 and a half weeks i think you are pretty lucky to be up at all.
(That doesnt mean you arent a good player by the way but you probably have alot to learn even for your limit).

If you are new to poker then making any profit at first is good news.
Either way i don't think you can really set such short term profit targets. In that time alot is going to depend on what cards you are given, how many times the 3rd flush card comes on the river etc.
Just keep on playing and watching pokertracker for leeks and dont get sucked into the newbie circle of death and you should be fine
Oh... and if you dont have pokertracker. . . get pokertracker

If you can find out how many hands you've played (or in future keep a record of it) you can work out your ptBB/100 statistic, the ammount of Big Bets you are making per 100 hands. This is a good way to quantify your win rate.

1 Big Bet (ptBB) = 2 big blinds at your table.

so for you its $.50. youve made $30 profit which is 60ptBB. Divide this by your hands played number and multiply by 100 and you have your win rate.

Note: Any sample size under 10,000 hands means shit because of variance. Greater then 10,000 is the minimum to tell you if you are a winning player.

And also after 2 1/2 weeks of play even break even poker is a very good result.

Thats $280 profit. Thats good for 2 and a half weeks work but trust me when i say dont get cocky or you WILL lose it all fast.

My advice is to read the Newbie circle of death sticky. then reread it. Then read it once a week for a couple months and make sure you dont loosen up.

    Congrats on starting well =)

Hey thanks for the equation! Is this correct?? $280/$.50= $560PtBB

    $560/10,000 (sample size althought I'm sure i played a little more) =0.056 x 100 =$5.6

So then my win rate would be $5.6 for every 100 hands played???

    Nearly,

the 5.6 isn't dollars, its Big Bets (pt stands for poker tracker by the way).

Since in your game 2 ptBB = $1 your dollar win rate would be 5.6/2 = 2.8 dollars.

So your making $2.80 for every 100 hands you play.
