How to play an idiot that goes all in every hand

I was playing in a free roll first hands and this guy next to me keeps going all in, he's won about twice with nothing hands, last hand he had was 8-4 suited.

I have AK he goes all in again - I call. Just wondered if you think I made the right choice here or If I did it wrong?

It doesn't seem to have converted everything, but he had and 8 and a low kicker so ended up winning the pot again!
Flop: (t10740) 5, 8, 5 (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: t8340

In a SNG it is hard to fight a maniac over-shover... the only way to fight them is with top hands... AA, KK, hands that are already made or top 4-5% IMO... AK is a good shove back at them, especially if you can shove it in before them, that gives them a moment of pause.

I tend to let these guys battle everyone else in the SNG, not changing my play much but getting tighter until they shove over and get knocked out... once that happens things return to normal.

It's the best way to play them. Why waste time trying to chip up, Double up or move on. Maqke your time worth your while. I do this in all of my RB provider freerolls. I am a maniac early and then play poker if I get a stack. I am not playing a 5 hour tourney for $8.

when I find guys like this I go into pokerstove, have villains hand range as random, and if I get 60%+ equity against his any two cards then I call a shove from him

Is this an MTT not an STT?

In an STT is probably a fold since we have such a good stack. In an MTT its probably a call because we have a premium hand and want to increase our stack. In an STT if either we or the villain had like 1500 chips it would be a call also.

I used to hate playing against this type of opponent. But playing this type of player is the perfect opportunity. It's a great way to double up. If you get unlucky, you're done, but that's true late tourney as well when you get in big pp over med pp or AK against AQ. It's just the sort of situation you're looking for in either case.
