Default How to play 2-3 different ring tables at the same time?

I've been reading about playing more than on etable at the same time, and have tried this with 2 tables so far, and this can get a bit hectic. But looking at the big picture its more fun/action, see more hands, possibly make more $$$. But just curious to see if this is right...

With 2 or more tables do you take more time a one table and try to read it better, and then play the other tables mainly if you get great pocket cards (AA, KK...ect).

This seems like this would make sense or are most of you multi tabler's reading all tables the same way.

    Thanks for any info...

I'm quadding $25NL on the party network atm. For the most part I just rely on poker tracker for general reads (who's the rocks (recently, almost everyone)). More specific tells come from hands I'm involved with, as they are the ones that have my attention.

I was playing 2 tables at 25NL and moved up to 3 recently. It was a little hectic at first but after 10 minutes it was almost the exact same as 2 tables. You need poker tracker and PokerAce or GameTime+ to make it easier to peg players. The more tables you play, the less lkely you are to play junk hands as mentioned. This is a good thing and probably a reason I am doing well.

I actually didn't start making money until I went to 2+ tables - probably because one table bored me and I played too many junk hands. I'm always up on one or more tables, so possibly being down on one doen't affect me as much when I'm up overall.

Pokertracker & Gametime are extremely useful for multitabling. Not only can you spot the rocks, you can quickly see when a good table has gone bad.

Once you're in the swing of 3 or 4-tabling, you fold the junk hands without a second's consideration, and that's the biggest recommednation I can think of. "Hmm, QTo on the cutoff, maybe I can bully a win here" NO NO NO STOP THINKING LIKE THAT. And when I am multi-tabling, I don't think like that, it's an insta-fold.

    Multitabling for me means basically:

    "Tight as turtle's #@$@ and set-farm"

My PF chart for multitabling looks like:

    Raise pots, call raises
    KK,AA : R/RR/Push
    QQ,AK : R/RR
    JJ/TT,AQ : R

Caution with calling UTG raises with AQ!
Limp & trap the raiser : set hunt with 99-22
    Unraised pots: KQ,AJ,AT in position.

Main source of making money is not pushing off better hands or chasing straights and flushes with pot odds.

Catch someone with dominated hand (worse kicker) and milk half of his stack or more, or outflop him by catching set and trap the shit out of him. Fancy plays while multitabling on lower stakes are waste of time and money IME.

multi-tabling isnt hard at all, in fact i think it makes playing easier. i 5-table at pokerstars ring games and sometimes 2 or 3-table SNGs on top of that, i think it's much harder to play less tables and wait for hands.

you dont really have to set-mine but you're probably not going to be making any great reads (or any reads at all, really).

    Default Q

Since everyone here is telling you Multi-Tabling is GREAT, I'll add this:

You have to have a good, solid game established before you start multi-tableing. Must MTablers who are profitting can answer pre-flop action questions instantly and without a second-thought.

    KQ in the cut-off, unraised?
    Insta-Raise.

QQ in late position position already raised?
    Insta-Re-Raise.

JJ in the BB into a raised pot with 3 callers?
    Insta-Call.

These guys have INSTANT-answers to these questions and EVERY other question you care to ask (though they may not agree with me or with each other). They do the SAME thing every time and have a time-worn PLAN for them that has proven profitable. There is no hem&haw or internal debate for any pre-flop situation.

(Of course the plan can be amended based on reads, but you have to have a starting game down pat and KNOW when you're deviating from it and why)

Get your GAME down to a very regimented plan that makes you money, then multitabling is simply multiplying your profit by 3x to 3-table. But if you don't have your plan down pat, you're inviting your mistakes to cost you 3x as much if you 3-table.

I personally prefer QJ and KJ to AT; what's your take on this?

Quoted for truth. Also it's so much less stressful knowing that you've got the best hand most of the time, and not fretting about whether to chase this draw...

QJ is a weaker hand than AT on SO many counts. One card flushes, having top pair instead of middle pair, TPTK sometimes. Plus, KQ dominates QJ but doesn't dominate AT. So you're dominated less often. Same thing with KJ. The added straight possibilities come into play less than 1% of the time. The possibility of having the best hand with a pair of aces comes into play 15% of the time. When the board is AQx you would like to have AT instead of QJ even those hands both hit.

Hey thanks for the information everyone...I've started 2 tables for now and its actually helps me with my issue of playing bad hands because of being bored with floping a lot of hand on a single table....and becoming more profitable to...thanks again.
