Hehe that happened to me a few times in the past.. I saw that the flop was most likely the biggest hand, so I raise hard on the river and often a couple of people fold. Yesterday in a 4 way pot there was a board broadway straight so I raised twice the pot and two people folded. One guy was sharp enough to call with his equally crap hand so we split the pot 
Very dangerous is when there is a straight on the flop and a person raises.. they might be stealing, or actually have an overcard for a higher straight. Took a guy in for that one yesterday.. and in the MTT I played I also got taken in by that. Luckily the guy was friendly enough to raise a really tiny amount ^^
