This should be in Tales of poker. How often it happens? Every once in a while. Push the river, he just might fold (see my post in poker tales where a guy folded with a royal flush on the board).

Pushing the flop is better than pushing the river.

    Yeah push the flop.

But if you get as far as the river, it could be a shit funny story to push and see him fold.

Hehe that happened to me a few times in the past.. I saw that the flop was most likely the biggest hand, so I raise hard on the river and often a couple of people fold. Yesterday in a 4 way pot there was a board broadway straight so I raised twice the pot and two people folded. One guy was sharp enough to call with his equally crap hand so we split the pot

Very dangerous is when there is a straight on the flop and a person raises.. they might be stealing, or actually have an overcard for a higher straight. Took a guy in for that one yesterday.. and in the MTT I played I also got taken in by that. Luckily the guy was friendly enough to raise a really tiny amount ^^

Works well when you get people to fold. Otherwise the rake on the hand makes you both into retards.

I think the rake on the hands is well offset by the fold equity you get at the lower limits here

I did not push on the turn because this Was Micro Limit and who knows what he was holding( I Put him on KQ+ preflop ) , After we showed , I person called him a a lucky SOB, Which I agree since he was dominated before the 4th damn 5
Do not let the last play cloud the current.

Current Goal - Build a BR on PS from $5.81

    Current BR $7.41

OK I'll be the idiot that asks - why on earth would anyone fold to a push on the river? In that situation, the board plays, no? Or am I just not playing with the kind of people who will fold an obvious pot-split?

The occasional idiot will not be paying attention. He'll be watching TV, petting his dog, talking to his GF, spanking the monkey, and when the computer beeps he'll look at the board and go "crap, my full house is no good anymore" and hit fold.

There are quite a few post on this over at Tales of Poker. Maybe it will happen like one in a hundred times, but when it does, it is so hilarious that it outweighs the $0.35 extra he would have won by far.

(plugging his own poker tale: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-32875.htm). I laughed so hard I woke my little brother who was sleeping in the next room.

I guess someone should write a HUD that flashes red and has a loud voice saying "WARNING! The NUTS are on the BOARD".
