Default How to get good advice on HH

This is a guide on how to get good advice on HH.

    Step 1.
Post any stats and perhaps if hes a winner, or a giant moron. not a 2 paragraph explantation. that makes good people want to go tl;dr and not give you good advice.

    Step 2.
Post the HH. that's without a giant paragraph for every decision. again the with tl;dr thing. Just post the HH and put ??? where you want advice.

    Step 3.
Don't do anything stupid in other people's threads. It makes us think you are a moron and undeserving of advice when you constantly do retarded things in other threads. this includes but is not limited to insulting people, posting "PUT HIM ON A RANGE" (this accomplishes nothing and makes me think you do nothing but regurgitate what you are told and understand nothing) In general try to come across as a nice person who understands he has a lot to learn and you'll probably get some solid advice. But don't say "well im bad at poker so my advice isn't worth much" this is equally as annoying as put him on a range. you wont get better unless you post and typing the above sentence is a waste of energy, let the readers figure out who is good and consequently engage you if they think your advice blows.

    Step 4.
Don't bitch about the advice given. People have taken time out of their day to try and help you improve at a game with advice that may end up hurting their bottom line. It's pretty awesome that they took the time to post and whining at them to post more detailed w.e or post more actually makes want people to post less. Ask nicely if you don't understand but don't be annoyed if they miss it or don't return to the thread and don't see your questions about their advice.

If you follow all these steps you'll get good solid advice from me at the very least and when you move up to SSNL and are ready to post in FRNL and SHNL you won't feel like a moron in that you at least know how to post an HH properly.

I think it can be good for the learning process to post your thought process, but there's really no need to post an essay on every street. A couple lines outlining your primary motivation on the tough decision in question is enough and avoids the reader fatigue bikes talks about.

Being concise is a lost art.
