hwat stakes do u play and is this cash or tourny?

raise your standard amount, somwhere between 3-5bb, depending on stakes and table conditions you might add one or two bb´s, if 5 won´t isolate. if you get 3bet, re-raise, try to get as much money in the middle before the flop.

the hard part playing aces it to know and accept when you´re beat and let them go.

Agreed. Do not tip off your competition that you have a hand. Mixing it up in regards to how much you raise often gets newer players in trouble against experienced players...especially if they've been paying attention to how you play. Making a raise that is not your standard raise can be a huge red flag. That said, if you are reraised then you better fire back at them. Like XTR said, get your $$$ in before the flop.

Also agreed. Some folds are easier than others - four to the flush/straight. It's sniffing out those sets and two pairs that separate the men from the boys.

Against intelligent players: make a standard raise in order to keep the aces face down.

Against your average aloof donk: raise to 15-20% of the avg. stack and see who pot commits himself to a flop w/o realizing it.

In EP you can also try to run a limp-reraise. The move basically has the pro's and con's of any check-raise.

Im not an advocate of limp raising with aces. You risk having 4-5 people limp in a see a flop with you reducing your odds greatly, and the limp raise generally shows you have aces. About the only time ill limp/raise aces is in a situation where i know i will get raised by someone. IE, im in the sb and the bb raises everytime i limp.

i play smaller stakes than the other veterans here, but i almost always play it hard and fast. if i flop an A, too, i dont slow down, keep betting and raising! at the smaller stakes 50 and below, i think there are enough donkeys to call you down with 2nd pair, and the like that you cant afford to give free cards and get your AA cracked by some goofy 2 pair.

the only instance i will routinely slow down is if i am oop to a true maniac, and i know if i limp, he will raise for me. i will then float a bit until the maniac committs himself to the pot, and take my chances with him. if i play strong at a maniac, i usually get a small pot. with AA, i would like him to stack off on his TPGK hand with arrogance.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

It's not always good to just do the standardraise at the lower stakes.
People tend to call way too much of the standard 3BB raise. Even the 4BB raise gets called by 3 to 5 player sometimes.

So, if you watched the table you mostlikely will know how much to raise to get a max of 2 callers.
