Default Hopefully some help for someone.

I have finally figured out what I am doing wrong and I am trying to fix these problems. I also think that my problem is also a common problem. If my advice is wrong here hopefully some of the other more experienced people can advise me.

first I already know i am on the nitty side but thats fine. until i fix my problems and can play a good base of fund. poker than i will live with that.

My biggest problem is playing too many hands. I have found myself in full ring hands .05/.10 playing about 25-30 % of the flops. I have also realized that i have been calling raises with things like a10off and trying to limp in with suited semi connectors from early position than callling 3x raises to see the flop. This is stuff I never do at my home games becouse the money is higher and do to the live action around me. but i sure do it at micro stakes. My point to this is try and limit yourself to more solid hands and try and play hands that you would raise with from early position and leave the more advanced stuff to better players that have been doing this for awhile. The biggest example i see is myself playing ace rag that is suited. Than having a hard time letting go after the ace or the flush draw comes out. just fold these hands and save yourself the frustration. I know this is pretty basic but I still have been doing it alot.
Please if I am wrong here than by all means let me know I am far from a pro but truely am working everyday to become one.

    thanks

The only point I was trying to say is when your starting out you see way to many flops and end up folding on later streets or loosing to a bigger hand. This is what has been happening. to me. I bought in for 10.00 and lost 2.20 to call and fold to later streets. alot of those hands were things like ace rag suited and suited connectors playing from early position.
    Make sense

    LOl,
Your right i didn't mean nitty. My problem is I have been trying to limp into to many hands out of position. I just felt when i found it out by taking some of sars advice and spending a few days going over my hh that this prob. might be pretty common. SOrry didn't mean nitty wrong word.

    Daven,
You are reffering to 19% flop seen percantage correct. Since I have seen found myself doing this I have paid more attention to my starting hands I have also quite playing multiple tables so I can concentrate on fixing my holes. I am now down to 17-20% I have played about 600 hands since then and things have gone better. I have also concentrated on raising a little higher than 3x bb. This has made it alittle easier to put people on a hand, So far i have not ran into near as many sets. but have only played about 600 hands since than.

This is what I was trying to tell some of the new players. Newer than me that is, not that I am great by no means. However do to the lack of blood in my alchol it did not come out too well. There for I will follow the rules and there will be no more drinking and posting by me. Atleast not tonight. LOl
Take care and thanks for all your advice.

No he's referring to literally 19 hands:

    All pocket pairs
    Ace-King/Ace-Queen/Ace-Jack
    King-Queen/King-Jack
    Queen-Jack

For a few sessions, try playing those hands and only those hands.

nah, Daven means the 19 premium hands. Some dude who used to post on here (and is now a poker writer ) advocated playing nothing but 19 hands and winning. Nittiest nit play ever - but a good place to start and learn the art of hand selection.

I do agree that is very nitty however I did use that practice about 3 years ago when i started learning. I am looking at trying to use better position awareness with card selection. Not just playing premeium hands, but trying to pick the right bet in the right position and trying to eliminate the limp in call the small bet on the flop and fold turn/ river. to me I think that this is wasted money that could be better used later in the game. The way i was playing I had hurt myself by the time i got a good hand. I am trying to play tight aggressive style. But not that nitty. LOl
I think that is why the bigger preflop raises have helped me win alittle higher with good c bets. Does this make any sense. I am not saying that i was playing too many junk cards like k6 off I was still playing good hands just bad position. Things like 98s limping in from utg or next position. than having to fold my .10 to a big raise in later position. This is the stuff I am refering too.

    Thanks

This was pretty much my style today. I like to see flops because I think I can play them well but today I took it to extreme. It was a little crazy for me, table1 up $60, table2 stuck $50. I tried to play the same but found myself chasing ALOT at table2 and bluffing in bad spots. I think I'm gonna try that 19 rule on 1 table next time. Table2 however, keep raising in MP w/64s and playing AA the same way.
