    Default homegame hand help

well like i said it was a home game so i cant give the exacts but i was 2nd to act preflop (5 were playing) and i was massively short stacked with 25 chips ( we started with 100 a piece) so i went all in with 6 6 and got called with K Qo the flop gave a king. My question is should i have just raised here then when i didnt connect fold or should i have just waited, the game was playing semi loose but respectable

I agree. The blinds would be very important here. If the blinds are small, then its possible you could pick a better spot (better hand/better position). If the blinds are half your stack, then its a different matter entirely.

Low pocket pairs do not play well post-flop if you don't hit a set and aren't willing (or more importantly don't have enough chips) to bet/push to rep an A/K hi flop or an overpair to the board.

Also, as I've learned playing some home-game style setups the last few weeks that there is no point in putting half your stack in preflop (raising) just to fold postflop...so what if you fold the flop and your next hand is AA and it holds? That just puts you back in the same position you were in before both hands and is generally a waste. I'd rather race or steal the blinds with my 66 here.

Now, as previous posters have indicated, all of this assumes that the blinds aren't 25 cents/50 cents at this point in the game...in which case you do have a little room to maneuver with a standard raise and play postflop poker.
